Heather set up her own business making Jams & Chutneys, deciding on a change of direction after the birth of her child. She started at the “Made in Shropshire” market in Shrewsbury, held once a month. Due to the great success of her products Heathers Harvest was born. She subsequently expanded and joined the “Heart of England” fine foods, attending their Markets, Festivals and shows. Heather’s Harvest now supplies several local shops, deli’s and tea rooms along with Hotels and Pubs within Shropshire. All the produce is hand made in small batches, using the greatest care and the finest ingredients. Where possible Heather sources ingredients from local Shropshire farmers markets to ensure freshness and provide a more intense and fuller flavour.

Their award winning preserves are all hand-stirred at Ivy Cottage in small batches on the range in the large family kitchen. Containing no artificial additives, their products use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible and their own vegetable patch is getting bigger!
When they moved to Ivy Cottage in the Brecon Beacons National Park they began building a garden. First they planted fruit trees followed by flower borders and a vegetable patch. They soon started making preserves for the family using their home-grown produce.
Out of the blue they saw the opportunity to exchange a hobby for a successful business when they took over Miranda’s Preserves in 2011, leaving secure jobs in education. It was a leap of faith but with their children finding their independence they decided to take the plunge.
